Dr. Donald Calhoun
Don retired from Hughes Aircraft as an Executive Director after a 33-year engineering career. He then completed CFP studies as a financial planner, became a CTEC Registered Tax Preparer, IRS Tax Return Specialist and AARP Tax Aide. Since 1999, Don has served pro bono as a financial advisor and 8 years as the CFO at Baycities Community Church Lomita. Don joined Kingdom Advisors in 2014 and has been an Advisor to the Christian Foundation of America (CFA) since 2018. Don enjoys serving others and writing on personal finances and how to manage the finances that God has entrusted to us.
Don received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford and an MS in Engineering, Ph.D. in Computer Science and Executive Management Certificate from UCLA. He has served as academic advisor to Stanford, UCLA and Harvey Mudd College and was the 1st recipient of UCLA’s Computer Science Alumni Award in 1994. Don and his wife Diana offer pro bono financial counseling for pastors and families and they have prepared and taught financial classes at Pasadena Senior Center, Baycities Lomita Church and Downey First Christian Church.
